During the time before Pakistan gained its independence in 1931, the late Shri Amlok Ram Chopra, who was affectionately known as Kaka, established this illustrious family restaurant in Lahore. Following the partition, he relocated to New Delhi and established the Kake Da Hotel in the Connaught Place neighbourhood. Many Mughlai dishes that are popular in North India today are said to have their roots at the Kake da Hotel.
Ashok Chopra and Tushar Chopra, Amlok Ram Chopra’s son and grandson, respectively, are the current proprietors of this illustrious eatery. The Kake Da Hotel has been honoured with a variety of certificates of appreciation due to the fact that it has been catering to the “who’s who” of India for such a significant amount of time.
